Admin’s Role in Data Export
As an administrator, your responsibilities regarding data export include:
- Understanding Data Needs: Identifying what data needs to be exported for various purposes (e.g., financial reconciliation, user activity audit, content catalog backup).
- Scheduling & Regularity: Establishing a routine for regular data exports, especially for critical datasets, to ensure up-to-date backups and continuous monitoring.
- Ensuring Data Integrity Post-Export: While the system ensures integrity during export, verifying that the exported files are complete and usable for their intended purpose is good practice.
- Secure Handling of Exported Data: Implementing and enforcing policies for the secure storage and access of exported data, given its potentially sensitive nature.
- Liaison for Custom Export Needs: If specific data views or formats are required that are not available by default, you may need to communicate these requirements to the development team.
Understanding the available export options and their implications allows you to leverage data effectively for robust platform administration.
