Licenses Management

The Licenses Management page allows administrators to oversee and manage licenses associated with content or entities on the DistroMotion platform. This typically refers to managing licenses granted to DistroMotion (e.g., from content providers, labels) or licenses that DistroMotion might manage on behalf of its users or clients. The primary function is to keep an organized record of these licenses and their associated metadata, including relevant social media presences.

Internal Logic & Purpose:

From an administrative perspective, this section serves as a central repository for tracking licensing agreements. While the term “license” can be broad, in this context, it likely pertains to agreements that grant DistroMotion rights to distribute, monetize, or otherwise use specific content or represent certain entities (like artists or labels).

The system stores information about each license, such as a description, a link to the actual license document (e.g., a PDF or a shared document link like a Google Sheet), and links to the licensor’s social media profiles. This helps in:

  • Organization: Keeping all license-related information in one place.
  • Verification: Quickly accessing license terms or contact points.
  • Rights Management: Understanding the scope of rights associated with different content or entities.
  • Marketing/Promotion: Having easy access to social media links for promotional activities if applicable.

It’s important to distinguish this from user-facing license selection during content upload (e.g., Creative Commons licenses). This section is more about the backend administration of formal licensing agreements.

1. Table Overview

The main table displays all licenses currently available on the platform. Each entry provides detailed information about the license and its associated social media links.

Columns

  • ID: A unique identifier for the license.

  • Sheet Link: A link to the associated sheet or document for the license. Clicking “View” opens the corresponding sheet.

  • Description: A brief description of the license, outlining its purpose or details.

  • Logo: The logo or image associated with the license.

  • Social Media: Icons representing the social media platforms associated with the license.

These can include:

  • YouTube
  • Instagram
  • Twitter/X
  • Facebook
  • TikTok
  • Telegram
  • Spotify
  • SoundCloud
  • MixCloud
  • Threads

  • Created: The date the license was created.

  • Actions: Available actions for the administrator to edit or manage the license.

2. Create New License

When users click the Create New button, a form is presented for creating a new license. The form contains fields to add social media links and other important details related to the license.

Fields

  • Description: A brief description of the license.

  • Sheet Link: A link to the document or sheet related to the license.

  • YouTube Link: The required YouTube link for the license.

  • Instagram Link: An optional link to the Instagram page for the license.

  • Twitter (X) Link: An optional link to the Twitter (X) profile for the license.

  • Facebook Link: An optional link to the Facebook page for the license.

  • TikTok Link: An optional link to the TikTok profile for the license.

  • Telegram Link: An optional link to the Telegram channel or group for the license.

  • Spotify Link: An optional link to the Spotify profile or content related to the license.

  • SoundCloud Link: An optional link to the SoundCloud page for the license.

  • MixCloud Link: An optional link to the MixCloud profile for the license.

  • Threads Link: An optional link to the Threads profile for the license.

  • Website Link: An optional link to the official website of the license.

  • Any Other Link: A field for any additional or alternative links related to the license.
