Licenses Management
The Licenses Management page allows administrators to oversee and manage licenses associated with content or entities on the DistroMotion platform. This typically refers to managing licenses granted to DistroMotion (e.g., from content providers, labels) or licenses that DistroMotion might manage on behalf of its users or clients. The primary function is to keep an organized record of these licenses and their associated metadata, including relevant social media presences.
Internal Logic & Purpose:
From an administrative perspective, this section serves as a central repository for tracking licensing agreements. While the term “license” can be broad, in this context, it likely pertains to agreements that grant DistroMotion rights to distribute, monetize, or otherwise use specific content or represent certain entities (like artists or labels).
The system stores information about each license, such as a description, a link to the actual license document (e.g., a PDF or a shared document link like a Google Sheet), and links to the licensor’s social media profiles. This helps in:
- Organization: Keeping all license-related information in one place.
- Verification: Quickly accessing license terms or contact points.
- Rights Management: Understanding the scope of rights associated with different content or entities.
- Marketing/Promotion: Having easy access to social media links for promotional activities if applicable.
It’s important to distinguish this from user-facing license selection during content upload (e.g., Creative Commons licenses). This section is more about the backend administration of formal licensing agreements.
